The Gadget Show – Audience

Today, a group of BOA students and I were asked to attend a debate between the new iPhone 6 and HTC 1 M8. The event was being held at the Birmingham City University (BCU) by the cast and crew of the Gadget Show. This debate included statics based on what the audiences preferred between the two mobile devices and when this data was collected, it was then put onto a slides show behind the presenters as statics of what the audience preferred. This was an interesting insight to a TV show as it wasn’t recorded simultaneously, but instead was filmed in small parts and had multiple retakes of the same part. This surprised me because I always thought that there was going to be one giant presentation that went from one thing to another but I fact, it was completely the opposite.

At the end of the filming the overall result from the audience was that 53.9% of people still prefer the iPhone 6 while 37.3% preferred the HTC 1 M8 and left 9% unsure about what phone when liked best.
This was a very interesting and educational experience as it gave me an insight to what you need to do when making a VT for a TV programme and will help me when filming my own programmes for my course.
